Common actions
Common stuff carriers are curious about.
See the breakdown
S020 (organize, 0.2367 min) + S036 (deliver to mailbox, 0.1671 min). Always the same, no matter where the mailbox is.
See the breakdown
S020 (organize, 0.2367 min) + S037 (deliver to locker, 0.3589 min). Always the same, no matter where the locker is.
This one's different from mailbox or locker delivery: it genuinely depends on the address, how far you drive from the mail stop and how far you walk from there to the door. Enter your own numbers, or leave the guide's example (1,000 ft drive, 100 ft walk) as is.
See the breakdown
S019 (organize, 0.5157 min) + drive time (round trip, at 0.0005 min/ft for this distance) + walk time (round trip, 0.00429 min/ft) + S047 (trip to the door, 0.852 min) + S048F (gather the parcel, 0.205 min) + S035 (the door scan, 0.1954 min).

Show the 24 named RRECS scans
These are the actual button presses on the MDD. Every one earns credit just for being pressed: S065 for a single entry, S066 for one that also needs a drop-down choice or a typed count, on top of whatever else it feeds. Some scans convert 1:1 into a real standard. An unscannable parcel delivered to a mailbox earns the same credit as a normal mailbox delivery, and an authorized dismount at a CBU earns the same credit as any other CBU dismount. Those get a “How many?” try-it below. Loading, end-of-shift, and Express deviation time don't have a per-unit standard to count against, so those get “How long?” instead, timing your actual minutes straight into the weekly average. The boxholder and WSS scans are credited across the whole route, not 1:1, and there's no honest way to guess how many you'll get. So they just take your box count and show what one set is worth, the same math the guide uses in its own example.
Record start of day, actual time.
S001 (scanner setup)
Record the start of a lunch or other break.
Timing only, no standard
Record the end of a lunch or other break.
Timing only, no standard
Record a set of letter-size boxholders received.
S013 (case boxholder letters). Boxholders also count as cased mail, so a set feeds the pulldown/strapping-out standards (S017A, S017B1, S017B2, S017C) too. The guide credits one set as reaching every delivery on the route, the same way it does for WSS letters below.
Record a set of flat-size boxholders received.
S012 (case boxholder flats), plus the pulldown/strapping-out standards (S017A, S017B1, S017B2, S017C) since boxholders are cased mail. Credited across every delivery on the route per set, same mechanism as WSS.
Record a set of addressed letter-size walk-sequenced mail received.
S011 (case WSS letters), plus the pulldown/strapping-out standards (S017A, S017B1, S017B2, S017C) since WSS letters are cased mail. The guide's own example: a 600-delivery route getting one set a month averages 7,200 pieces a year from that single mailer—one scan is credited as if it reached the route's full box count, not just the pieces actually seen that day.
Record a set of addressed flat-size walk-sequenced mail received.
S010 (case WSS flats), plus the pulldown/strapping-out standards (S017A, S017B1, S017B2, S017C) since WSS flats are cased mail. Same route-wide crediting as WSS letters: one set counts as reaching every box on the route, and the resulting pulldown time scales with the route's total deliveries.
Record the start of loading the vehicle, actual time.
Loading time — no per-piece standard, but the minutes from here to ENDLOADVEH are recorded daily and their 52-week average is added straight into the evaluation.
Record the end of loading the vehicle, actual time.
Closes the loading-time window opened by STARTLOADVEH; see that scan.
Record actual time departed for the route.
Timing only, no standard
Record a multi-trip delivery of parcels or accountable items to the door.
S047, S048F and S048V (each trip and item gathered)
Record the start of a deviation to deliver Express Mail only.
Express Mail deviation time — no per-piece standard, but the guide is explicit that this is no longer paid when it happens: the total driving-and-walking minutes from here to ENDDEVIATION are recorded daily and their 52-week average is built straight into the evaluation.
Record the end of that deviation.
Closes the deviation-time window opened by STARTDEVIATION; see that scan.
Record a count of customs mail pieces.
Related to customs mail processing; the guide doesn't say exactly which standard
Record a count of postage due pieces or bundles.
S041 (collect postage due)
Record one carrier pickup event and how many items were retrieved.
S045 (the event) and S046 (each item)
Record a parcel that cannot be scanned or entered manually.
S035, S036 or S037, depending where it was delivered—the scan instructions have the carrier indicate door, mailbox, or parcel locker, same as a normal parcel delivery scan.
Record extra trips at an authorized dismount location.
Whichever additional-trip standard matches the dismount (S107A, S103A, S111A, S117A, S123A or S129A)—the scan instructions have the carrier enter the total number of extra trips, which is exactly the additional-trip credit those standards pay.
Record a trip to the door for something else, like a tub of held mail.
S069 (deliver miscellaneous to door)
Record one Rural Reach customer contact.
S067 (contact Rural Reach customers)
Record one stamp stock sale.
S068 (sell stamp stock)
Record returning to the delivery unit; starts the end-of-shift clock.
End of Shift Duties (EOS) time — no per-piece standard, but this is straight actual time: the minutes from here to PMCASING or CLOCKOUT, whichever comes first, are recorded daily and their 52-week average is added directly into the evaluation, the same as Loading Time.
Record that end-of-shift activities are done.
Closes the EOS-time window opened by RETURN2DU; see that scan.
Record end of day, actual time.
